Golfing with The Donald in Scotland

DonaldTrump.jpgLooks like Donald Trump has moved one step closer to his dream of building a Scottish super-golf mecca. Local authorities apparently just can't resist the uber-developers sweet talking demeanor, charm and wind resistant hairstyle.

The local planning committee has voted in favor of Trump's 2 billion dollar golf development plan despite some local environmentalists outcry that the project will wreak havoc on local wildlife and habitat. One such local has apparently taken on a sort of modernized Braveheart persona by refusing to sell his property despite the generous buyout incentives being offered by the Trump organization.

Yet Donald's crew is excited about the forward movement. The Trump International Links is, of course, a fully Trumped up development with two deluxe championship courses, a five star luxury hotel, 960 homes and 36 super exclusive golf villas. All this located is along the pristine coastline of northeastern Scotland.

Donald is not quite in full-on build mode yet however. The local infrastructure experts review plans and then everything goes before the Scottish ministers who within 28 days can approve or squish the deal. And then there are the insistent few that oppose the deal. Michael, Braveheart, Forbes, proud owner of 23 of the prime acres has refused a $750,000 buyout deal on his property. He just doesn't think it's right!

Mr. Trump proclaims his links course will be one of, if not, the best golf destination in the world!  No big surprise coming from The Donald himself. He's even invited his friend Sir Sean Connery to hit the inaugural tee ball. I wonder if his rabblerouser friend Rosie will be on the grand opening invite list? Stay tuned.
