Oh Woe is Wie

It's difficult to sympathize with Michelle Wie's recent conundrum when you objectively review the truckload of talent that she possesses. Look at this side by side swing comparison with the Big Easy, Ernie Els. You just don't see this kind of juice much around the LPGA. It's no wonder the pundits went crazy when she showed up on the scene.

When she was 11, she shot a personal-best 64 in 18 holes from the 5,400-yard tees at the Olomana Golf Links, one of Hawaii's most popular links style courses. And if you've paid any attention, this was only the beginning of her remarkable ascendance to fame and popularity.

Fast forward to the ripe old age of 19. Michelle is a world renown, statuesquely beautiful incoming freshman at Stanford University with the entire world of opportunity in front of her. No doubt she's got a way to go to attain super stardom in the world of golf, but what a head start she has on the rest of the pack!

It's almost en vogue these days to hate on teen golf phenom Michelle Wie. It wasn't too long ago that she was the darling of women's golf. She was supposed to be to the LPGA what Tiger has become to the PGA.

That is really impressive and beautiful. They make it look so easy. I just hope that with all the celebrity she has to contend with at this tender age, she doens't go by way of many child proteges...I guess she has Tiger as a role model in that regard.
